The new Regenerative Thermal Oxidation, in use at Tires Plant Timisoara

Because we are investing in high performance technology, Continental Tires Timisoara launched, in July, the new RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidation) system for treating olfactory emissions.

The investment, about €3.3 million, disintegrates the volatile organic compounds (the molecules responsible for most odors) that appear in the production process of tires by oxidizing them at high temperatures. The system has five combustion chambers and the capacity to treat around 120,000 cubic meters of air per hour and is much more efficient than the previous one, installed in 2015, which it replaces.

At the launching event, our factory was visited by representatives of local public authorities and institutions, but also by media representatives.
