CDP Honors Continental for Performance on Climate Change Mitigation

In 2020, Continental again received an “A” rating from CDP for actions and strategies to reduce emissions in the supply chain. Continental is among the seven percent of companies that have been recognized as “Supplier Engagement Leader”. More than 9,600 companies and organizations were evaluated.

Every year, the international non-profit organization CDP assesses the climate data of companies on behalf of investors and scores them on a scale from A to D-.

Continental has been participating in the CDP’s annual reporting and disclosure of climate-related data for more than 10 years. This leads to a public rating. In addition to the “A” rating in the supply chain area, the company achieved a “B” rating for its efforts in the field of climate change mitigation. In the category of sustainable water management, Continental’s actions and data also scored a “B.”

Since the end of 2020, Continental has been using electricity from renewable energies at all production sites. By 2040, the company plans for its production to be CO2 neutral. By the end of 2050, the value chain should also be CO2 neutral.
