Continental establishes fund for sustainable corona assistance

In many places, the long-term negative social and economic effects of the pandemic are becoming clear. Following the initial relief measures, it is now important to coordinate further support for hard-hit people and countries around the world. For this reason, in June 2020 Continental launched a donation platform jointly with “DSZ – International Giving Foundation (IGF).” The “For-One-Another Fund” is a support fund that aids non-profit organizations. The aim is for private employee donations and corporate donations from Continental to arrive quickly, safely, and without bureaucracy where they are most needed. People who are not members of the Company can also support the various organizations via the donation platform.

In addition to the global COVID-19 response fund of the World Health Organization (WHO) the “For-One-Another Fund” includes eleven recipient organizations in countries where Continental employs a large number of staff and that are particularly affected by the coronavirus crisis: Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa, the Czech Republic, and the U.S.A. The organizations were selected locally in consultation with colleagues and in some cases are long-standing partners at the various Continental locations.
