Continental Once Again Among Top Performers in CDP Ranking
Hanover, Germany, March 31, 2025 – Continental has once again achieved an excellent CDP rating, confirming its commitment to climate change mitigation and sustainability. For 2024, the technology company was awarded a rating of “A-” in the area of climate change mitigation and “B” in the category of water security.
“With these results, we remain among the top performers. The B rating in the water security category also confirms the effectiveness of our initiatives and measures in this area. Overall, the assessment shows that we’re on the right track with our sustainability ambitions,” said Thomas Sewald, Head of Sustainability Governance & Reporting.
CDP is a non-profit organization that each year collects climate data from companies and rates them on a scale from A to D. In its 25th year of reporting, over 24,800 companies from more than 130 countries, representing two-thirds of global market capitalization, disclosed their environmental data via CDP.
Continental’s sustainability ambitions form an important part of the company’s strategy and are in line with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement. Since the end of 2020, Continental has been using electricity from renewable energy sources at all of its production sites, with the goal of achieving carbon-neutral production worldwide by 2040. The company aims to be carbon-neutral across the entire value chain by the end of 2050.
