The Continental Executive Board informed the Supervisory Board at a meeting today of its decision and concrete plan to spin off the Automotive group sector. Subject to the approval of the Supervisory Board in March 2025 and resolution by the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting of Continental AG on April 25, 2025, the current plan is to complete the spin-off of Automotive as a European company (Societas Europaea, SE) listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange by the end of 2025. The independent company will operate under a new brand, which is to be launched by the end of April 2025.
The Continental Executive Board has decided to spin off the Automotive group sector following its detailed evaluation announced in early August. Subject to the approval of the Supervisory Board in March 2025, the spin-off will be presented for resolution to the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting of Continental AG on April 25, 2025. The spin-off is expected to take place by the end of 2025. The preparations for it are to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2025.
The Chairman’s Committee of Continental AG’s Supervisory Board has agreed to Olaf Schick’s (52) request to step down early from his role as Executive Board member for Finance, Integrity and Law, effective September 30, 2025. The Supervisory Board is expected to give its formal approval at its meeting on December 18, 2024, and will decide on his successor in due course.
Just under half (47 percent) of office workers in Germany would quit their jobs if their employer completely abolished or severely restricted the option of working from home or remotely. This was the finding of a representative survey of more than 2,000 office workers conducted by opinion research institute YouGov on behalf of Continental.
