Hanover, Germany, April 29. European logistics professional Vos Logistics is continuing its successful collaboration with Continental. Continental has been supporting the Dutch logistics provider with professional tire management as part of the Conti360° Fleet Solutions service portfolio since 2016. Vos Logistics has extended its contract with Continental again due to its high level of satisfaction with the services and tire portfolio. “In order to maintain our high level of service in this cost-sensitive market, the operational reliability of the vehicles is of crucial importance to us,” says Pieter Derksen, Purchasing Manager at Vos Logistics. “Thanks to data-driven maintenance, our tires are always ready for use, which allows us to focus on our core business. With Continental, we are also working with a partner that shares our values of efficiency and sustainability.”
Optimally fulfilling complex requirements
Vos Logistics is an expert in a wide variety of customer-specific logistics services. The company handles transportation from bulk goods to end-customer deliveries. Since mid-2024, the Europe-wide logistics provider has relied on the Conti360° Fleet Solutions tire management system for its entire fleet of more than 1,100 vehicles. In particular, the close network of more than 7,000 Continental partner workshops in 25 European countries ensures optimum fleet reliability for the company. The average downtime after a flat tire in 2024 was just two and a half hours across Europe. “The cooperation with Vos Logistics is characterized by mutual trust and shared values,” says Jessika Hoeflich, Head of Fleet Solutions EMEA at Continental. “With our customer-oriented Conti360° Fleet Solutions service offering, our broad tire portfolio and our individual consulting concept, we can optimally meet the complex requirements that Vos Logistics faces in the transport business. We work closely together and support our customers in developing their business sustainably.”
Sustainability at Vos Logistics
Vos Logistics developed a sustainability strategy back in 2010. Since then, its implementation has been continuously reviewed and adapted to current requirements. “Logistics has a major impact on the carbon footprint of our economy,” explains Pieter Derksen. “That is why we are constantly working to improve the efficiency of our logistics processes. For example, we have been committed to integrated sustainability reporting in our annual report for many years. “ A complex task. Vos Logistics' vehicle fleet and company structure are as diverse as its customers' transportation needs. “Today we transport cement, petrochemicals and bulk goods, and tomorrow one of our mega trailers will be transporting automotive parts and other components to their destination,” reports Pieter Derksen. Whether in long-distance transport across Europe, in regional transport in the Netherlands or in small distribution transport - the logistics service provider from Oss handles all tasks reliably and on time. The company has 2,500 employees, over 4,000 loading units, 300,000 square meters of storage space and 35 locations in Europe.
The right choice of tires helps to reduce emissions
With the Conti360° kilometer contract and customer-specific reporting, Vos Logistics benefits from full cost transparency and the advantages of predictive maintenance. The freight forwarder uses a broad portfolio of premium tires to individually equip its fleet for the very different operational requirements in regional and long-distance transport. This enables Vos Logistics to achieve the greatest possible operational safety, use the full-service life of the tires and reduce the overall CO2 emissions of the vehicles. “When it comes to new developments, we always opt for green logistics services and technologies that reduce both our CO2 emissions and our energy consumption,” adds Pieter Derksen. In addition to fuel-saving tires from Continental, this also includes alternative drive systems. The first cities in the Netherlands are now exclusively permitting access with zero-emission vehicles. “In regional transport, ten of our vehicles already run on electricity and hydrogen.”
Future prospects: climate-neutral mobility
Emission-free city centers are a step towards climate-neutral cities. Continental is aiming for climate neutrality along the entire value chain by 2050 at the latest. Tires such as the new Conti EfficientPro 5 with increased load index and reinforced belt layers are optimally designed for electrically powered commercial vehicles. “With our partner Continental, we no longer have to worry about our tire management,” says Pieter Derksen with satisfaction. “Continental is on hand to advise us on all tire issues and with Conti360° Fleet Solutions, we are optimally positioned to deal with future tyre-related challenges.”
