Hanover, Germany, October 22, 2024. Continental has published a wide-ranging white paper on digital solutions. This compilation of materials includes user testimonials along with new service solutions and product developments from Continental. Entitled "Intelligent Tires – Digital Solutions for Efficient and Sustainable Logistics", the white paper provides insights into the various applications for digitalization in a future-focused system of tire management for commercial vehicles. The in-depth copy and useful features – such as interviews, statements, and videos – provide a concise overview and expert introduction to the topic.

In the spotlight: aspects of digitalization in the commercial vehicle industry

According to a study by the Fraunhofer IESE institute for future mobility, digital solutions are the key to optimizing operations and reducing costs. The pressure on companies to digitalize their fleets is therefore steadily increasing. Tires and integrated tire pressure monitoring systems have a crucial role to play in the digital transformation. "They make it possible to carry out maintenance predictively, cut costs, minimize energy consumption and reduce emissions," remarks Franziska Ohliger, Head of Commercial Consumer Business Solutions, EMEA. "Fleet managers are increasingly using connected solutions to generate real-time vehicle status reports and thus monitor the main cost drivers." Emphasis is shifting to individually adapted, results-driven solutions so that fleet operators can focus squarely on their core business. The "Intelligent Tires" white paper addresses these aspects of digitalization. Haulage contractors and fleet operators have their say and report on their experiences with digital solutions. The focus here is on cost-effectiveness, predictive planning of tire servicing, operational safety and sustainability.

AI and digital tire management in practice

The specialist input contained in the white paper is supplemented by testimonials from real-world customers: "Artificial intelligence and data connectivity will be of crucial importance for cost-effectiveness in the field of transport logistics," says Bernd Klotz, Managing Director of haulage company Spedition Klotz. "ContiConnect Live puts us in a position to actively control tire-related processes rather than simply reacting to punctures and the resulting vehicle downtime," adds Ran Gordon, Manager of Israeli haulage company Gor Oz. "With ContiConnect and the multifunctional app offering fleet managers even greater operational flexibility, we are taking the next step towards predictive maintenance," states Paul Broker, Fleet Engineering Director at G.Webb Haulage.

"For me, it’s a question of making my fleet more reliable. Being able to check tire pressures, having no more tire breakdowns and improving safety for our 55 drivers – these are the three most important benefits for me of ContiConnect via Live," reports Andy Baum, Managing Director of haulage company Klaus Baum Logistik. "A digitalized fleet enables you to plan ahead when it comes to maintenance and servicing, and that makes it an effective tool for cutting CO2 emissions and looking after resources, while also increasing the vehicles’ operational safety," explains Gerhard Pomberg, Logistics Operations Manager at Remondis Soest. "With ContiConnect on board, I can now concentrate on the things that are really important to me: growing the company and providing safe and reliable public transport across the region," remarks Bruno Druetta, Fleet Manager at the Italian transport operator Bus Company SRL.

Digital solutions is therefore one of the hottest topics in the logistics and transport industry right now, and the new white paper "Intelligent Tires – Digital solutions for efficient and sustainable logistic" responds accordingly, with 24 pages of background information, photographs, topic ideas and contacts on the subject.
