Winter Tire From Continental Achieves a "Very Good" Rating From Auto Motor und Sport

  • Trade magazine Auto Motor und Sport praises WinterContact TS 870 P for its balance
  • Continental tire with highest score in rolling resistance Rating 

Hanover, Germany, September 12, 2024. In its latest issue (issue 20/24), the renowned German motoring magazine Auto Motor und Sport has awarded Continental’s WinterContact TS 870 P a "very good" rating in its winter tire test. The editors tested a total of ten winter tires from international brands for 19 driving characteristics on snowy, wet, and dry roads. The test also focused on rolling resistance and tire rolling noise. Their conclusion about the WinterContact TS 870 P: "Easy to control, very well balanced tire with good performance and reliable reserves on snow. Safe, lightly understeering handling with good aquaplaning protection in the wet. Dynamic and stable on dry roads." The WinterContact TS 870 P also had the lowest rolling resistance in the test field.

The WinterContact TS 870 P scored best in wet and dry handling. In the snow test, it showed safe characteristics "without any significant weaknesses," commented the editors. It also scored top marks in the aquaplaning tests.

The WinterContact TS 870 P is suitable for mid-sized cars and SUVs. It offers precise and safe handling on typical winter roads as well as on dry and wet roads. The WinterContact TS 870 P is manufactured to fit rims with diameters ranging from 16 to 22 inches, widths from 205 to 325 millimeters, and cross-sections from 70 to 35 percent, and is approved for speeds of up to 270 km/h, depending on the size.
