Hanover, Germany, March 21, 2024. Continental’s PremiumContact 7 has won the latest summer tire test conducted by the Swedish magazine Vi Bilägare. The magazines Motor (Norway) and Tuulilasi (Finland) republished the results. The comparison included ten summer tires from different manufacturers of different price and quality categories in the size 215/55 R17. In addition to premium brands intended for everyday use, the comparison also included cheaper alternatives and tires designed for year-round use.
Points were awarded in areas such as braking, cornering grip, and handling on wet surfaces, aquaplaning and cornering grip, braking and handling on dry surfaces, as well as fuel consumption, noise, and comfort. The tests were conducted in sunny Spain in October, using Škoda Karoq 1.5 TSI and Škoda Superb 2.0 TDI as test vehicles.
Continental PremiumContact 7 emerged as the leader in the test. The testers remarked, “It is a true sport tire, with grip levels that are in a class its own.” The tire received special praise for its shortest braking distance and highest cornering grip on both dry and wet surfaces. In addition, Continental “gives the driver confidence in unexpected driving situations.”
