Continental WinterContact TS 870 P wins Tyre Reviews UHP winter tire test 2023/2024

  • Continental winter tire is particularly impressive due to its low abrasion
  • WinterContact TS 870 P with good grip in all weather conditions

Hanover, Germany, December 8, 2023. The Continental WinterContact TS 870 P took first place in the 2023/2024 Ultra High Performance winter tire test conducted by the British trade magazine Tyre Reviews. This year, the editorial team tested six tire models from well-known manufacturers in Germany and Sweden on a Ford Mustang with a tire size of 255/40 R19. The TS 870 P impressed with its particular strengths in the wet and snow, with low rolling resistance and abrasion.

The WinterContact TS 870 and WinterContact TS 870 P are Continental's latest winter tires. The WinterContact TS 870 was developed for cars from the mini to the mid-size class. Sportier, compact passenger cars can also get through the cold season safely with Continental's winter tire. The wide product range includes tires for rims between 14 and 18 inches, including those with rim protection ribs as well as XL marking for increased load-bearing capacity.

The WinterContact TS 870 P is available for larger cars and SUVs with powerful engines. It offers short braking distances, precise handling, and safe driving characteristics on dry, wet, and wintry roads. The range includes tires for rims between 16 and 22 inches. Like all current tires from the Continental brand, the WinterContact TS 870 and TS 870 P are suitable for electric cars, hybrids as well as cars and SUVs with combustion engines. Both have a dedicated EV-compatible marking on the sidewall.

The test victory in the Tyre Reviews UHP winter tire test follows a series of successes for the current Continental winter tires in international press tests. This year, the WinterContact TS 870 P has already been rated "very good" by the German magazine sport auto and "exemplary" by Auto Bild. The WinterContact TS 870 recently won the 2023 winter tire test of the British trade magazine Auto Express as well as the winter tire test of the ADAC, the Austrian ÖAMTC and the Swiss TCS.
