New AllSeasonContact 2 From Continental is "Exemplary" in Auto Bild All-Season Tire Test
- Reliable braking performance, safe handling and impressive grip in all weathers
- Editorial team tests on snow, dry and wet roads
- Efficient all-season solution for vehicles of all drive types
Hanover, Germany, September 28, 2023. "All-rounder with convincing winter qualities, dynamic handling and short braking distances on wet roads, quiet pass-by noise, high mileage," is the verdict of the tire and test experts at Auto Bild on Continental's new AllSeasonContact 2 in the current issue. The editorial team put the all-season tire in second place with an overall score of 1.3 and the verdict "exemplary." A total of 35 products from European, Asian and American manufacturers were tested in the 225/45 R 17 dimension for the mid-size class on a Volkswagen Golf (Auto Bild Online).
For the summer discipline the criteria handling (dry, wet), ABS braking (dry, wet), aquaplaning (longitudinal and transverse), rolling resistance, comfort as well as rolling noise were tested. The test drives took place in Germany and Austria. To examine the handling, traction, slalom and ABS braking test disciplines (all on snow), the editorial team moved to wintry New Zealand.
Continental has increased the mileage of the AllSeasonContact 2 by 15 percent compared to the previous model and at the same time reduced rolling resistance by 6 percent - without compromising on safety. The AllSeasonContact 2 provides even better handling on dry roads and has an even shorter braking distance on wet and dry roads. In terms of ride comfort, safe snow characteristics and aquaplaning, the AllSeasonContact 2 is on a par with its predecessor.
When developing the new AllSeasonContact 2, Continental had the needs of vehicles of all drive types in mind. As a result, the AllSeasonContact 2 with its performance values is an efficient all-season solution for vehicles of all drive types. The AllSeasonContact 2 is available in 99 articles between 15 and 21 inches.
