An Important Gesture to the Northeim Workforce: Continental hosts Employee Day

  • Employee day as a mark of gratitude to colleagues at the site
  • Colorful program is received enthusiastically
  • Factory premises event attended by companies and partners from around the region

Hanover/Northeim, Germany, September 7, 2022. Continental invited the entire workforce to an employee day at its Northeim site. Last Thursday, employees from the four business areas of the Group’s industrial division had the opportunity to enjoy a colorful and varied program of events on the company’s own premises, food and drink included. Practical support was provided by organizations and companies from the region around Northeim.

“The time had come to thank colleagues for their performance, commitment and perseverance before and during the current phase of the Covid-19 pandemic,” said site manager Andreas Mätschke. “The aim was just to enable employees to have some fun and to find time for a relaxed exchange of ideas and opinions on this day. This was particularly in view of the fact that not everything is running absolutely smoothly right now – neither in the world nor, unfortunately, on our site.”

Close cooperation with partners from the region

“It was good to see the staff laughing and socializing together again. I am particularly proud of the project team, which comprised committed employees from various departments and which made this day possible in the first place,” said project manager Philipp Meyer, who is responsible for the environment, safety and health in the ESH division at Continental in Northeim. For him, the opportunity to collaborate with partners from around the region was also extremely valuable. Many of them provided support on the day with their own booth, offering interesting services and attractions. “We are deeply rooted here in the region and are also well connected, as the day clearly demonstrated. Many of our partners gave us great support that day. A huge thank you to all those involved.”

For example, the company THIMM GmbH placed the adjacent parking lot at the plant’s disposal. “These close collaborations reflect our site’s philosophy of working even more closely with others in the region. This will also be evident in our support for the Northeim City Run, which takes place soon,” Mätschke emphasized, adding: “A huge thank you especially to our colleagues who attended in such large numbers on the day and brought the necessary spark of life. This was a genuinely successful event that was beneficial to us all.”
