Tour de France: Continental Agricultural Tires part of the race for the first time
- “La Passion de la Terre” : Continental caravan, banners and tractors along the route and LEDs on the home stretch promote agricultural tires during the Tour de France
- Tires with high durability and mileage support farmers in their work
Hanover, 22 June 2021. In summer, the roads of France once again belong to the professional cyclists. In 21 stages, the Tour de France rolls through various departments, including the agricultural regions of Brittany, Bourgogne and Auvergne. As one of the five main partners of the traditional Tour of France, Continental has been present for years with increased visibility. In recent years, the Tour has been accompanied by the large presence of Continental passenger car and two wheel tires. This year, Continental agricultural tires will also be on display for the first time.
“As the main sponsor, the Tour de France is naturally a highlight for us at Continental every year. Some stages of the Tour are characterized by views of almost endless agricultural land. That’s where our high-performance agricultural tires come into action,” explains Benjamin Hübner, Product Line Manager Agricultural Tires at Continental. “Our tires stand for durability, safety and comfort - in the field and on the road, on cars, bicycles or commercial vehicles. The partnership with the Tour de France uniquely reflects this.”
La Passion de la Terre - Agricultural tires in the spotlight
When this year’s Tour kicks off with the Grand Départ in Brest on June 26, the visibility of Continental agricultural tires will accompany the tour across the fields of France, with the motto “La Passion de la Terre.” The agricultural tires will be integrated on the layout of the Continental caravan that will cover all the stages. On stages one, two and three, large banners and tractors will also draw attention to the Continental agricultural portfolio on farmland along the route. An animated LED banner will greet cyclists at selected stage destinations and short advertising clips will accompany the conclusion of the tour along the Champs Elysée in Paris.
Continental and the long experience of agricultural tires
Agricultural tires have to be all-rounders. Continental’s extensive tire portfolio offers farmers robust partners that deliver maximum performance on different soils, under various loads and at diverse speeds. The first Continental agricultural tire was launched back in 1928. Based on its many years of experience, Continental continuously invests in innovations in order to be able to respond ideally to customer needs.
