AutoBild: Continental’s PremiumContact 6 tire rated exemplary and named Eco-Champion

Hanover, February 28, 2019. In AutoBild magazine’s big summer tire test, the PremiumContact 6 tire from Continental was awarded the top “exemplary” rating, as well as being named “Eco-Champion”. The journalists tested a total of 50 different tires in size 225/45 R 17 from European, American and Asian manufacturers. The test vehicle was a BMW 1 Series. Summing up the performance of the PremiumContact 6, the AutoBild experts from Hamburg called it “a premium tire that offers balanced, safe handling on wet roads, short wet and dry braking distances, fuel-saving rolling resistance, high mileage and good economy.”

AutoBild conducted what is the world’s most comprehensive tire test in two sections: In part one, the test subjects were put through dry and wet braking tests. The top 20 products qualified for part two comprising further tests, also conducted on wet and dry roads. In all, the test looked at a total of eleven different criteria.

The PremiumContact 6 is a passenger car summer tire for models from the compact class and above. The range currently includes 120 variants, with approvals for speeds of up to 300 km/h.
