UX-Demo-Vehicle: Comfort and Safety

  • "User Experience" test vehicle presents innovative interior solutions
  • Continental presents technologies that are also important for autonomous driving

Continental is revolutionizing interior comfort. At the TechShow, key functions for interior monitoring and intuitive communication between car and driver can be experienced in a demonstration vehicle. The integrated system solution Cabin Sensing raises the principle of driver monitoring to a new level: the radar sensor module also detects children on the back seat and warns if they are alone in the car when parking. In addition, innovative developments, such as the “virtual passenger” Digital Companion, show how digital communication solutions ensure a significant increase in comfort and safety.

Intelligent sensor systems and innovative micro cameras are crucial for tomorrow's mobility. Research and development at Continental does not only focus on safety and communication with the help of driver assistance systems. In particular, comfort and safety in the interior are increasingly crucial disciplines. Recognizing the condition of the driver as well as children is a basic requirement for semi-autonomous and fully autonomous driving. For example, when the on-board computer needs information as to whether the driver can take over manual control from the autopilot.
