Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly important for mobility. That is why Continental has developed a code of ethics for the use of such self-learning systems.
The recycling model commonly used today is important, but is only a first step in the right direction. Because pure recycling can often be applied only in limited repetition cycles without causing a loss of quality in the material, it still falls short of being sustainable in the long term. That is why we at Continental are going one step further and focusing on circular economy.
Nearly two-thirds of Germans (61 percent) fear the use of artificial intelligence could lead to job losses. This is the finding of a representative survey of some 2,000 German citizens conducted by opinion research institute YouGov on behalf of Continental on February 28 and March 1, 2023.
Digitization, networking, semi-autonomous driving functions and, above all, the rapidly changing user behavior of people require new mobility concepts. Our experts work together to integrate their research and design into Continental's award winning cutting-edge technology innovations.
Continental has demonstrated its solutions under the theme “Experience Future Mobility, Today!” at the 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition.
On average, an electric vehicle weighs 1,622 kilograms, around 284 kilograms more than a conventional gasoline vehicle. According to the Center for Automotive Research, electric cars bring a fifth more weight onto the road than their gasoline counterparts. To further accelerate the transformation toward lower-emission or emission-free mobility, solutions need to be found that convince people and make the vehicle as a whole more sustainable – and above all more lightweight. Continental already offers a variety of advanced approaches in this regard.
