My Job in the ADAS Industry
Hello everyone,
my name is Rohail Razzaq and I am working as as Customer Project Manager for the Assisted and Automated Driving Control Unit (ADCU) for one of our customers in Frankfurt.
I joined Continental in February 2014 as an Intern in Lindau, Germany, working on the long-range radar. It has been a good and interesting journey. I worked in three different positions. I started as a student, then as a trainee and now I am a regular employee. Furtheremore, I worked at five locations . Four of these locations are in Germany (Lindau, Ingolstadt, Ulm, and Frankfurt) and one was in Auburn Hills (USA). I got experiences in Series Analysis, Strategy & Planning, Systems Engineering, Global SW Factory and Project Management. Let’s see what will happen in the future.
I am enjoying to go to work every day because really like the dynamic and agile environment of the ADAS industry. There are new challenges, new requirements and new technologies on a regular basis, which make every day at work exciting. Compared to the time when I joined the business unit ADAS in 2014, we now have two additional products in our portfolio and surpassed two generations of the already existing products. The field of automated driving is booming and who wouldn’t want to be a part of that? Also, I like that – within a single project – so many colleagues from different departments work together, all strongly commited to a common goal.
What I really appreciate here at Continental is that all my colleagues are living the core values. Normally, I experience it on daily basis. However, I would like to mention a specific example that happened to me in April 2018 in a project I am currently working on. There was a situation where we had to find a replacement for a chip that was already being used in our design. The whole project team worked with strong commitment (Passion to Win) to find a solution that could fit technically and commercially (Freedom to Act). We also received help from other similar project teams (For one Another) so that we were able to reach management approval in the end (management showed Trust in our project team).
Besides my job at Continental, I am very fond of sports, travelling and food. Whenever time allows, I like to plan some trips. Regarding sports, I would say that cricket is in my DNA because I am from Pakistan. Apart from that, I also like football and table tennis.
