Mobile Working at Continental
At Continental, we attach great importance to flexible working. In practice, a hybrid working model has become established, i.e. a mix of mobile working - for example in the home office - and on-site presence. This is because personal encounters promote communication, strengthen team spirit and make us more innovative and creative. This balanced work philosophy creates a flexible and motivating environment for professional growth. In addition, our colleagues in many countries have two times a year 20 working days at their disposal, on which they can combine working abroad with travel and leisure time in two European countries each.
Why Mobile Working Is Important to Us
Geographic flexibility offers a wide range of advantages for employees and companies alike. After all, mobile working creates time that can be used for meaningful activities, whether in a personal or a professional context. Our colleagues gain more independence and can organize the way they do their work to suit them. In addition, hybrid collaboration eliminates commutes and trips, thus protecting the environment. All of this increases the satisfaction, motivation, and creativity of our colleagues, which can ultimately lead to more groundbreaking innovations.
Mother and Manager Thanks to Mobile Work
The Head of the IT Service Desk, Janette Galvan-Diaz, is able to easily perform her management responsibilities and spend plenty of time with her son, because she uses the advantages of hybrid working.
Travel and Work in Harmony through Cross-Border Mobile Work
Our employees in the German companies are free to work from two European countries for up to 20 days a year in agreement with their manager. Since the start of the programme in March 2022, hundreds of colleagues have already enthusiastically taken advantage of the offer.
Find out first-hand how our employees experience cross-border mobile work at Continental. They share their personal insights and experiences in short videos they made themselves. From Pierluigi Mazza, who combines his working time in Italy with family visits, to Anja Lommatzsch, Laura Averbeck and Rodrigo Maia, who share tips for choosing a job abroad. Find out how they organize their working environment to stay productive and what tips they have for future cross-border colleagues.
