Continental to Highlight Autonomous Mobile Robot and Material Handling Tire portfolio at MODEX 2024

Fort Mill, S.C., February 27, 2024. Continental today announced it will display its autonomous mobile robot technologies along with its expansive material handling tire portfolio at the MODEX trade show in Atlanta March 11-14. Continental’s booth (Booth #C3578) will be dedicated to demonstrating how innovative technology solutions support end users and manufacturers in forward-thinking decisions in the supply chain industry.
“Making Things Easy” for intralogistics with Autonomous Mobile Robots
The Continental Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR IL 1200) is the go-to solution for automating material handling processes in manufacturing plants, warehouses or distribution centers. With its state-of-the-art hardware and intelligent software features, the AMR is able to transport a variety of loads up to 1,200 kg (2.600 lbs). Thanks to the possibility of different configurations, the smart robot transports trolleys and carts (LU), and pallets (LM), or connects conveyor belts with the Top Roller Module (TR) at a speed of up to 2m/s.

The AMR independently executes transport orders, bypasses obstacles and identifies alternative routes. A fleet management system enables the integration of the mobile robot into the customer’s IT and ERP environment and coordinates the transport orders. Choosing the Continental AMR helps to save up to 80% of operational costs. The resulting increase in productivity can lead to a return on investment of 12-24 months.
“Supporting the VDA 5050 standard and being able to integrate into any 3rd party fleet management solution has been a major driver for our market success. In contrast to facing exclusivity, this open ecosystem approach allows our customers to start simple and increase complexity step by step,” Haeger said.
Material Handling tire portfolio is the “Smart Choice” in efficiency and sustainability
One of the showcased highlights will be the ContiPT18 solid tire with its new tread-wear indicator (TWI). The new TWI can be seen on both sidewalls of the tire, making it quicker and easier to determine the right time to change a tire. This can reduce overall operating costs by maximizing tire utilization and contribute to greater sustainability.
