Automotive News Names Continental’s Aruna Anand a 2018 Rising Star Award Winner

  • Anand recognized as a Rising Star for outstanding talent, determination and leadership throughout her Continental career

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 10, 2018 — Automotive News today announced Aruna Anand, head of Continental Engineering Services for North America, as a 2018 Rising Star. The award honors executives from automakers and suppliers in the U.S. who continuously showcase exceptional determination, talent and leadership.

Anand currently serves as head of Continental Engineering Services (CES) for North America, a position she has held since June 2015. CES, a subsidiary of Continental, is a leading international development and production partner for automotive customers. The company develops and produces new solutions for technological challenges in the vehicle interiors, powertrain and chassis fields of expertise. In her current role, she is responsible for leading an independently operated business that offers comprehensive engineering services for internal and external customers in the automotive and industrial industries.

As one of the company’s highest-ranking female executives in North America, Anand has enjoyed a distinguished career, having held numerous leadership positions of increasing responsibility in each of Continental’s divisions. Anand also received the Professional Achievement in Industry award during the Women of Color Awards Gala in October 2017.

Anand earned her Bachelor of Science in electrical and electronics engineering from Anna University in Chennai, India, and her Master of Science in computer science and engineering from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

In its fifth year, the annual Automotive News Rising Star Awards program recognizes young, entrepreneurial-minded professionals who possess incredible drive and a dedication to propel themselves, their organizations and the automotive industry forward.
